Easter, continued

After a great Easter at the lake with the Wests, we headed to San Marcos, where an Easter BBQ awaited us.  After stuffing ourselves, we headed outside to hunt Easter eggs.

It took a bit of coaching.  At first.

Then she discovered that these eggs were stuffed.  With chocolate.

She's never had chocolate before, but no one had to show her what to do. She knew exactly what it was for! Unfortunately, she couldn't figure out how to get the aluminum wrapper off, so she just started biting straight through it.

Luckily, Aunt Katherine took pity on her and unwrapped the chocolate egg.  Can you see the adoration pouring out of C's eyes?

After her messy snack, she wandered around, just looking at eggs, not actually picking any up.  Her sweet cousin Aiden brought her some to fill up her basket.

The grown ups had some fun with cascarones, but sweet Aiden saved his to show Charlotte. Then we got a few posed pics. Notice all of Charlotte's attention is on yet another chocolate egg...

Look what I found:

They're eggs with the tip, foil included, missing.  I figured I might as well let her finish the eggs.

After all the eggs were found, we took a break for bubbles.

Impromptu maternity photo shoot

I am thankful to be lucky enough to have a sister-in-law who is generous with her natural talent as a photographer.  The last day we were at the lake for Easter, I fixed my hair and make-up in preparation for Easter in San Marcos, then realized that it's not often both of those get done.  Bonnie and I ran outside and got a few pictures of my beautiful baby belly while I was lookin' good.  (I hope that doesn't sound too terribly conceited, but I really like my big ole round tummy!) I think they turned out terrific...even if I can see the round pregnant face starting to develop...

In this last one, she's pointing to my belly, saying, "Be-be," and hiking her dress up to show her belly, too.  So sweet!

Here's one last one to show why I don't typically wear my hair down:

She's playing peek-a-boo...quite vigorously...
