A beautiful day

So theoretically I'm going to wait until the end of each month to post that month's pictures from now on, but I could not wait to post these sweet shots of the kids! I never intended to take family pictures today, but everyone was so happy and it just worked out right.  Today is very humid, so their hair is slightly curly, which it is normally not in the least. We didn't even brush our teeth yet, yuck! But when you are given a present of quiet time, it's best not to waste it!!

We were all outside and the girls were picking peas when I realized the lighting was perfect for pictures and everyone was happy. So I ran inside and grabbed the camera.  Charlotte went off and made "stew", which consists of twirling a stick between fence slats so long strips of bark hang off (don't as me where it came from, I have no idea!), so I asked Paige to look at me and smile.  She never really did - she was waaaay too busy eating peas to stop for me!

Charlotte stood still for just a quick moment, then begged me to take a photo of her jumping.  Doesn't she look so proud of it??

Paige kept popping her lips together, trying to copy the sound I was making to get Jacob to laugh and smile.  By the end, she had me so frustrated!  I kept telling her to stop, trying to explain what was going on, and she would stop, and then immediately start again the moment I brought the camera up again!  I finally decided I was getting worked up over nothing - this was just a bonus photo shoot anyways, right?

Now, I never got that perfect family shot - someone's eyes were closed, or Paige was busy smacking her lips trying to copy the noise I was making to get Jacob to smile, but one came close.  I decided to photoshop Jacob's eyes from a different picture so I could have the "perfect" pic of all three.  I'm just warning you, so that if you try to pint this, or enlarge it on your computer or whatever, you'll understand why the shadows don't quite line up on his face!  I don't care, totally worth it!!

Random pictures from the hospital

Koby listening to the football game on tv...very quietly

Everybody getting sleep in the middle of the night

The rest of February

February was a pretty low-key month.  We had some yucky winter days and some beautiful spring days, so at least we got outside some.

The girls decided to build a house, all on their own and working together.  Paige is bringing picnic food!

Can you find Charlotte?  She's in the hammock, behind the swingset.  She sat out there for about 30 minutes, eating an apple (and thinking, I guess...)

D surprised us with a quick visit.  They are watching a video of cousin Gavin laughing in this picture.  Obviously the girls thought it was HILARIOUS.  I think they must have watched it 6 or 7 times in a row!

Jacob rolled over for the first time, right about 4 1/2 months old.  He rolled himself a couple times in the middle of the night and screamed bloody murder until I flipped him back over.  Luckily, he figured out what was going on and stopped doing it on purpose. (Also, he slept through the night for the first time, twice in a row, shortly after rolling.  Rooting for more nights like that!)

Paige singing to Jacob (at her typical volume - top of the lungs LOUD...)

And three in the tub means lots of fun!  Sisters thought this was a great arrangement, mom and dad thought it was a bit tight in our tiny bathroom for 5 people.  I will say, though, that it was really cool to watch them oozing love for each other.  I have a great picture of Jacob with a huge smile on his face because Charlotte is talking to him, but I can't put it on here because the little wiggle worm knocked his washrag off (again) and there are bits and pieces flying free everywhere.  So I'll just tuck that one away for a rainy day...

Jacob's first bites

Well, Jacob is 5 months old now, and it's about time to start trying out the whole "eat from a spoon" thing. He seemed to almost enjoy it the first time, and that was the last time! Since then he's decided he's not a particular fan.  The girls love feeding him, though.  Charlotte tells me every time they eat, "Maybe we should feed Jacob now, too."

Paige was especially excited to feed him.  She made me the most nervous - a spoon in toddler-rough hands- but she did pretty well. I love how both girls opened their mouths while trying to feed him!
Jacob thought it was really cool to grab the spoon from the girls, so he spent most of their turns pulling the spoons from their grasp.

Ha, even Koby does the open-mouth mimic.  He got on to me for putting a pink bib on Jacob.  What can I say, it's rough being the third!
