Play time!

January is shaping up to be full of yucky weather.  Cold, rainy, and windy.  We've been trapped inside and left to entertain ourselves.  Charlotte has been going crazy, and so have I, but she sure is cute to watch when she's not crying!

Talking on the phone to Gigi

"Knock, knock...let me in...ima huff and puff"  (Charlotte's version of The Three Little Pigs."  Then she hammered some ketchup.

Everyone gets to ride on the train!  P.S - that train was Paige's Christmas present.

She loooves to line up her movies, and pretty much everything else as well.

Bubble make everyone happy!  Even mommy, since a friend gave us a bubble gun and I don't have to blow them myself any more!

Paige's first bites

Paige had her first solid food experience about a week before we left for our Christmas traveling.  We were very surprised at how uninterested she was.  I know some made it in, but she was a huge fan of sticking her tongue out.  And looking at the light.  And the camera.  Basically anything that didn't involve eating.

Charlotte was very upset that we weren't giving her any.  At first, she just didn't want to accept that it was baby food, but once she started helping Paige eat, she made peace with it.

I wouldn't call Paige's first time eating a success, per se, but it wasn't a complete failure either.  I tried every day for the week before we traveled to get her interested, but it didn't work.  So we tried again on New Years' Eve.  It was pretty much the same story.  She doesn't really think solid food is all it's cracked up to be.  Half the time, she won't even open her mouth, no matter how wide we open ours!

Some days are better than others.  Hopefully I can start putting up some...happier? eating experiences soon.

Aiden's funny faces

Every time I tried to get a picture of Aiden, he made some goofy face, so I told him, "Go for it.  Make all the funny faces you can."  Here are the best of his best!

Christmas in San Marcos

From Midland, we drove to San Marcos.  The girls did really well on the drive out to Midland, but this drive to San Marcos did not go near as well.  We ALL were thankful when we finally made it to Opa and Oma's house.  When Aiden first walked through the door the next morning, Charlotte literally stomped her feet and screamed an ear-piercing scream.  She was so excited!  After the "new" wore off, we tried to pose the kids in front of the tree (that Aiden decorated..and redecorated...and redecorated), but Charlotte was just in a silly mood.  At one point, she laid down in front of Paige and jibber-jabbered nonsense, which made Paige grin from ear to ear.

We opened presents next.  Aiden loved his crocodile and Charlotte loved the ties that held her first Cabbage Patch doll in its box.  Figures, right?

Then we headed outside to burn off some energy. It was so cold!  Paige did not join us.  As cold as it was, Charlotte would not keep her hat on, stubborn little bugger! We played with the dogs, jumped on the trampoline, fed Ruby, and dug in the (freezing cold) dirt.  This is pretty much what happened every day.  And every night, Charlotte and Aiden watched a movie while the grown-ups played Settlers of Catan.  Fun stuff!
