Mommy/daughter time

Paige has been having a really hard time sleeping lately, which often ends up monopolizing my time. When she (finally) went down for a nap, I felt like Charlotte and I needed some special time together, so I broke out the nail polish for both Charlotte and I.

Turns out Charlotte loves having her nails painted!  She scratched the polish off during nap time, then asked to have it repainted because her nails were "broken".

I think the special alone time she got with me filled her tank some, because soon after her nails dried, she played by herself for a bit.  She have her baby a bath, and even scrubbed its face.

A happy Saturday

Halloween

A little bit late, but here are our few pictures from Halloween. Paige was a mermaid and Charlotte a princess.

Appropriately for Halloween, the trick or treat experience was a bit of a horror for me.  Koby left work early, just like the other 4 million people in Houston, so he was late getting home.  I had anticipated his help and was caught completely off guard by getting the girls dressed alone during the normal dinner time. I had a seamless plan worked out in my head, but all that went out the window the moment both girls decided they desperately needed to eat at the same time.

By the time Koby made it home, he was met by a whirlwind of unhappy women at home. We did make it out the door, though.

Oh yeah, see how her dress is hanging off one shoulder?  That's from when she threw a fit about getting dressed and tried to rip it off.  Awesome!

We went candy hunting with Parks the lion and Cana the fairy.

The first door.  Oh, what's that? Where's Charlotte?

Hiding in the back with her daddy.  Turns out she was scared of trick-or-treating.

Koby had to carry her to every door.  Sigh.

This is the neighbor boy, Tyler, sharing some candy with C.  We finally convinced her to say trick-or-treat at the very end of the night, when we went around to our neighbors' doors.

Playmates

My two sweet girls, "playing" together.

Charlotte has recently become obsessed with playing on our bed.  I think it's because it's where she can almost always get some undivided attention from one or both of her parents.  The other day she asked to hold Paige while up there. ("Ima hold Paige.")

After patting Paige's tummy and telling her, "It's ok, Paige," she tried to pick her up.  ("Ima pick Paige up!")  After that didn't work out, she pretended to feed Paige something.  She was really serious about it, too.  Then she gave some to me, then had some herself.

I have no idea why she was examining her mouth.  All of this looks a bit rough, but Paige either smiled happily or ignored Charlotte and stared at the fan through most of it.  Guess the second kid has to toughen up young...

Paige is 4 months!

Paige is 4 months!  She's getting very good at holding her head up. She loves to "talk" at the top of her lungs, and it usually involves sticking her tongue out a lot. She smiles all the time and has laughed a few times. Charlotte adores her and she adores Charlotte right back. We both can't wait until she can really play with Charlotte!

I fear I may get this look a lot during the
teenage years.
