Both girls are having some sensory fun playing with slime for the older and yogurt for the younger. Look at those pretty faces! Speaking of faces, Paige has really been making some doozies lately. This is one of the most common. She's scrunching up her nose and snorting in the picture. Love it!

Paige is crawling!
It finally happened - Paige decided to crawl. Koby and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas for 5 days and the girls stayed with Gigi, D, Mimi and Papa at the lakehouse. As I understand it, she was rolling around on the floor, happy and playing just like always, and she must have seen something she wanted because she just randomly started army crawling towards it. That means both my girls learned to crawl at the lake house!
Now, she is army crawling all around the house. I love it. It's so sweet to see where she wants to go. A few days after we got back from the cruise, Koby and Charlotte went to play on the bed and left Paige alone in the living room. (I was cooking dinner in the kitchen.) Paige started making her way into the bedroom after them, babbling as loud as she could. I like to think she was saying, "Hey guys, wait for me!" Just like a little sister, right?
She crawls all over now, and it tickles me to no end, because I had pretty much given up on her ever crawling. I would like to say, though, that my sweet Paige has managed to find the least active way to crawl: she only uses the big toe on her right foot to push and her elbows to pull. The other foot just hangs out. I love it. It just seems like such a perfectly Paige thing to do!

A much better beach trip
We went to the beach at the beginning of June, and it went about a million times better than the last one (which was almost a year ago, wow!). Instead of a screaming Paige, we had a happy, happy girl who loved the water immediately.

I went to the Dollar Store and bought a whole bunch of toys, which ended up mostly being used to clear away the seaweed by adults and Charlotte alike. She played in that seaweed pretty much the whole time I was taking pics of Paige. Really, it worked out perfectly, because the last time we went to the beach, there was one lonely little picture of Paige and about 50 of Charlotte. It was nice to have a chance to focus solely on Paige. Of course, Charlotte did get her fair share of pictures taken of her. Look at that gorgeous sky - it was perfect beach weather!

She had been throwing the seaweed back in the water, but I guess she decided to see what happened with her shovel. Right after that, I think she noticed the color of the water, because she pointed to the ocean and told Koby, "Look, Daddy, it's chocolate! And bubbles!" Come to think of it, the water was pretty brown...
Koby took her out in the waves to try out her float, and it went really well...until a wave broke over her and got her face wet. Then she was all done and curled up with Daddy.

True to her toddler self, she was having a hard time getting over it. Eventualy we got her to stop pouting by having a family water fight. She didn't quite get the hang of filling the squirt gun, but she could shoot it a little bit. She loved squirting daddy and being squirted.
The last day, as we were packing up to head home, the girls noticed baby Ellie and tended to her for a while. There was also baby Sarita to play with, but I never took any pics of the girls together. Oops!

What a great weekend!

Big chief daddy
Charlotte really likes the movie Peter Pan, and when she gets ahold of a headband and gets it on anyone - Koby, a baby, Paige, whoever is willing -they automatically become an indian. Daddy says he's the big chief.

Salt EVERYWHERE
The night before we left for a trip, Charlotte was playing so well while I made dinner and cleaned. I should have suspected something for such a long period of calm, but she's not typically the type of child to get into stuff, so I was grateful for the time to prep for the trip rather than worried. Turns out I should have been a bit more concerned than I was.
When I finally reached a good stopping point and poked my head around the kitchen counter to see what was keeping her so well entertained, I discovered a thick sprinkling of salt on the counter ledge and all down the front and back of the couch (which C is standing on in the pic). I wanted to flip out, but I decided to take a few pictures of it, hoping to laugh about it in a few years. Thanks, Charlotte, for salting the living room.
Playing with yogurt
Paige is so much older than she seems. She's already 11 months old! About a month ago, I realized I was treating her like a 6 month old, food-wise. I was still pureeing everything she ate and not letting her try to feed herself. I just kinda forgot that she was supposed to be doing that. Anyways, I've been trying to take the time to let her practice with her food more, and she is really enjoying it! These are pics of the first time I let her try to feed herself yogurt. Not much made it in the mouth, but she sure did have fun trying.
She had a slow start and was very cautious with it, but by the end she had splattered it everywhere. Her favorite part was clapping it with her hands. Gave herself a yogurt facial!
