I have to say, this afternoon was wonderful. It's how I always imagined it would be once I had kids. After nap time (during which Charlotte did not sleep), we sat in the hammock and sang songs. The temperature was sublime, with a light breeze and perfect sunny blue sky. No exaggeration, I think we stayed in there for close to 30 minutes. Then Charlotte asked to "go check the peas, please," so we sat by the garden picking and shelling peas, leaving piles of empty pods each time we scooted down the row. Charlotte gorged, and I do mean gorged, herself. Paige thought the shells, with or without peas inside, made great chew toys for her poor little teething gums.

Don't you just looove Paige's smile? She is still her stoic self, but she's just been so smiley and happy lately. I hope it's a sign of what's to come - she has the sweetest smile and quietest, breathiest laugh and I want everyone to hear it, not just read about me hearing it.
