Pre-baby family vacation

The first week in August, we took the girls to the J.W. Marriott resort.  We thought it would be a good idea to have a family vacation specifically for the girls before the baby made its appearance.  So we spent four days giving the girls all the attention they could handle.  I'm 100% positive they LOVED it!

The resort had three great water features: a beach entry pool, a lazy river, and a kiddie pool complete with water slides of varying sizes.  We spent pretty much all of our time either in the water, eating, or sleeping, so I don't have very many pictures. Water and my camera just don't mix!

We ordered room service the first night without really thinking it through.  Spaghetti for the girls plus no dining table meant they got to strip down and eat on the patio.  No doubt we got some weird looks from passer-bys, but the girls had a blast making a huge mess!

After playing in the water and heat all day, most nights we were all exhausted.  There was lots of sweet snuggling in front of a movie before conking out. (Plus a little goofing off!)

We all had fun and will be happy to go back once Baby #3 gets big enough to have fun in the water as well.  Paige and Charlotte both loved the lazy river.  We would float around and around and around.  They had shallow "beach" areas at random points and we would stop and play there - "I can't reach you!" was a favorite.  We also pretended the other tubers were sharks.

Paige really enjoyed the kiddie pool, especially the fountains.  Charlotte loved the slides, both the body slides and the tube slide that she went on with daddy.  She was just barely tall enough to ride the smaller of the two tube slides.  And we managed to get out of there without a single sunburn.  Perfect!

The last evening we were there we had smores then sat out on the golf course while the girls ran around with lots of other kids.  It was wonderful and peaceful.  The sun started setting and the breeze was blowing.  Then the sprinklers came on and all the kids ran through them.  It was such a great way to end the vacation.
