How is everyone doing?

How is everyone doing?  That's the question I hear all the time.  Well, I think we are all doing pretty well!  Jacob is just growing and growing.  Every day he seems bigger and plumper and sweeter!  He is such a handsome boy (if I do say so myself) and it seems like he's a mix between Charlotte and Paige, looks-wise.  Depending on the day, he favors one or the other.  We think he's about 11 pounds now at one month.

Charlotte just adores him.  She is always hugging and kissing on him.  She gets right in his face, and he's started smiling at her some.  She gets so excited when he does that!

Paige doesn't really try to interact with Jacob much.  Mostly she touches his head, then goes off to draw.  When he cries she makes sure to tell me, "Baby cwy, baby cwy." She has been acting out the mommy role a lot with her bunny, though, so she's definitely paying attention!

The girls have been doing a pretty good job at playing (and fighting) with each other.  It always helps when they can entertain each other, at least a little bit.

Here they are "sleeping", which is Paige's favorite game right now.  She will lay down and cover herself with blankets for like 5 or 10 minutes at a time!

I asked Paige if she was a robot and Charlotte answered, "No, she's a Tyranosauras."  Little boss! Also, that stack of blocks behind Charlotte?  It's a castle.  It stays built most days.  Even if you knock it down, or pick it up, she will come rebuild it.  I'm beginning to wonder if it's a permanent fixture of the house and how I could get her to relocate it out of the walkway...

Singing.  Always singing!  Both of them are singing, probably "Let It Go", but maybe Old MacDonald.  Paige will reach full volume around the middle of the song, guaranteed.  Yes, we are still in some pajamas - don't judge!  At least everyone is fully dressed!!

We've mostly been taking it slow around here.  Charlotte does NOT like leaving the house lately.  Must be something about the baby coming - I'm assuming it will pass eventually!  Luckily, the weather is cooling off and we can have fires in the evening.  We even made smores one night, yum!

Visitors still come to us, which is so nice.  Makes it feel less like lockdown, you know?

Both girls have certainly had their share of acting out.  Charlotte tends to break down into tears at the drop of a spoon (literally!) and Paige has been having potty accidents.  Nothing we didn't expect.  Who doesn't like a little negative attention, I guess!  Usually it's not so cute, but the other day Paige took to painting her masterpiece on herself.  It was one of the few attention-getting quirks that made me smile.  And she was so offended when I washed it off.  Crying, she kept saying, "Why, momma, why?"  (which is what she says every time I tell her no these days...)
